Every week brings another AI tool promising to transform your software delivery. Copilots, agents, automated testing, AI-generated code reviews - the options are dizzying. And the pressure to adopt is real: competitors are moving, executives are asking questions, and no one wants to be left behind.
But organisations that rush to layer AI onto a broken or poorly understood SDLC don't move faster, they may give the illusion of uplift but there is a big differece between individual effectivesness and life cycle productivity. Before you consider where AI fits, you need to understand what you're actually working with.
Start with the process, not the technology
