Fire & Smoke Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Fire & Smoke mobile app ("the App") for Android and iOS, published by Sugarolly Mountain ABN 60 670 056 783 ("we", "us", or "our"). The App is a barbecue and smoker reference: cook temperatures, internal and pull temperatures, timing guides, pitmaster notes and a cook timer.

This policy is written to comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), as well as Google Play and Apple App Store policy requirements.

1. What Information We Collect

None. The App:

• Does not require or offer user accounts
• Does not collect names, email addresses, or any contact details
• Does not collect location data
• Does not contain advertising or advertising SDKs
• Does not use analytics or tracking of any kind
• Does not contain in-app purchases or subscriptions
• Does not transmit any personal information from your device to us or to anyone else

2. Data Stored on Your Device

The App stores one small preference locally on your device so it can work the way you left it:

• Whether you have chosen to see temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit

Anything you type into the App — a meat weight, a probe reading, a custom timer length — is held only for the duration of that session and is never written to storage or transmitted anywhere. None of this data leaves your device, none of it is linked to your identity, and the stored preference is deleted when you uninstall the App.

3. Third-Party Content Delivery Networks

To render its interface, the App loads a small number of standard open-source web libraries and typefaces from public content delivery networks (unpkg and Google Fonts). Like any request made over the internet, these requests expose your device's IP address to the operator of that network. We do not control, receive, or have any access to that information, and no personal data about you is included in these requests.

4. Device Permissions

The App requests no special device permissions. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, notifications, or location.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for general audiences. Because the App collects no personal information from anyone, it does not collect personal information from children.

6. Food Safety Note

This is not a privacy matter, but it matters more: the temperatures and timings in the App are guides for cooking and are not a substitute for your own judgement or for food safety advice from your local food authority. Always cook to a safe internal temperature, measured with a probe thermometer.

7. Changes to This Policy

If a future update to the App changes any of the above (for example, if we ever add cloud-synced cook logs), we will update this policy before that version is released and revise the effective date at the top of this page.
